I aim to build a career as an academic researcher and university professor, leading a rigorous cancer biology program focused on both educating and mentoring future scientists. My career goals include intentionally integrating scientific inquiry with teaching while fostering critical thinking, hands-on engagement, and creativity. Currently, my research addresses major gaps in ovarian cancer biology by investigating biological mechanisms underlying therapy resistance. My future research focus will continue to focus on gynecologic malignancies, an area that remains disproportionately understudied despite significant disease burden, high mortality rates, and persistent gaps in clinical advancement. I intended to continue researching with the goal of clarifying more effective and equitable therapeutic strategies for women while uncovering key mechanisms underlying disease initiation and progression.
