Christopher Li, MD, PhD, is the vice president for Faculty Development at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center, the associate director for Faculty Development for the Fred Hutch/UW/Seattle Children’s Cancer Consortium, and he holds the Helen G. Edson Endowed Chair for Breast Cancer Research at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center. His research spans breast and colorectal cancer early detection, screening, etiology, and survivorship. He has identified novel risk factors related to the development of cancer and has evaluated molecular features of cancer associated with poor outcomes. He also investigates the causes of cancer disparities. Dr. Li co-leads the NCI-funded SEER cancer registry serving western Washington state, our DOD-funded Transformative Breast Cancer Consortium focused on the prevention of lethal metastatic breast cancer, and our NCI-funded SPORE focused on cancer differences across populations. With respect to his faculty development work, Dr. Li leads multiple efforts focused on supporting trainees, faculty mentorship/sponsorship, and leadership development.
