My long-term research objective focuses on strategy-based therapeutic studies in cancer research. I believe by developing stronger targeting strategies, we can increase the effectiveness of individualized care. I aim to use my success to support my career goal of creating programs for underrepresented students, providing them access to start early work at research institutions. My current research studies the metabolic influences of HDAC1 expression in pancreatic cancer. By understanding the consequences of loss of HDAC1 in pancreatic cancer through use of inhibitors or genetic targeting, we aim to exploit those vulnerabilities to find synergies with existing and novel choices of therapy.
