My research focuses on the rising incidence of early-onset colorectal cancer among Hispanic and Latino populations, a group that has been historically underrepresented in cancer research. By integrating advanced molecular profiling with spatial biology approaches, I seek to elucidate the biological mechanisms that drive tumor initiation and progression in these patients. This work aims to refine molecular tumor characterization to enable more precise and effective cancer care. In the long term, my goal is to inform improved, equity-driven treatment strategies and to mentor the next generation of scientists committed to advancing cancer research and patient outcomes.
