For Students: Your Future in Cancer Research Starts Here

High school students with a passion for science and an interest in exploring careers in cancer research are invited to apply for the AACR Cancer Research Education for Success (CARES) High School Scholars Program. This initiative provides a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in cancer research and receive sustained mentorship to support academic and professional development.

Participants in the program will:

  • Participate in a Summer Research Experience at a leading cancer research institution, working alongside scientists and researchers on real-world projects. This experience offers practical laboratory skills, exposure to cutting-edge discoveries, and opportunities to build professional connections within the scientific community.
  • Receive Continuing Mentorship from the AACR for one year following the summer program. This includes guidance from experienced mentors, access to career development resources, and ongoing engagement with the cancer research community throughout the academic year.
