Penile Cancer

Penile cancer is a disease in which malignant cells form in the tissues of the penis. Penile cancer is rare in the United States and most developed nations, according to the National Cancer Institute. Approximately 2,100 men will be diagnosed and 500 will die from the disease in 2024, according to the National Cancer Institute.

Human papillomavirus infection may increase the risk of developing penile cancer. Other risk factors for penile cancer include tobacco use, having poor personal hygiene, many sexual partners, phimosis, and being over 60 years of age.
