Bertagnolli, Rathmell, and Experts from the Science and Patient Advocacy Communities to Discuss Impact of Federal Cuts on Cancer Research and Patient Care
WHAT
The AACR will host a timely session at the AACR Annual Meeting 2025 examining the impact of recent federal actions and policy proposals on the future of cancer research and patient care. The session is titled “Cancer Research at a Crossroads: Sustaining Progress Against Cancer for the Benefit of Patients.”
Among the esteemed panelists are former NIH Director Monica M. Bertagnolli, MD, and former NCI Director W. Kimryn Rathmell, MD, PhD.
Bertagnolli, Rathmell, and other respected voices from the science and patient advocacy communities will discuss the adverse consequences of the current instability, including the halting of critical clinical trials, the disruption of scientific careers, and the lack of patient access to new treatments.
