Candia L. Brown is the senior director of Global Market Development for Genetic Sciences Division of Thermo Fisher Scientific. In her leadership role, she is responsible for market segmentation strategy, thought leadership and business development within the clinical research, agriculture, biotechnology and pharmaceutical markets. She is passionate about genomics and health disparities in communities of color and is currently leading The Just Project, a $25M donation through Thermo Fisher’s Corporate Social Responsibility, to support COVID19 testing in Historically Black Colleges & Universities (HBCU).
Her career spans almost 30 years in molecular biology and genomics and she has held positions R&D, applications science, product management, business development and strategic marketing. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Integrative Human Biology from the University of California, Berkeley. Candia is the proud mother of a college sophomore, loves soccer and football, and is an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. and Black Women Organized for Political Action (BWOPA).
