For pioneering contributions to cancer epigenetics and RNA medicine, particularly in revealing how chromatin accessibility and epigenomic landscapes govern oncogenic transcription. Dr. He’s landmark studies of FOXA1–androgen receptor networks, noncoding RNAs, and RNA modifications have transformed understanding of tumour progression, plasticity, and therapeutic resistance. By bridging functional genomics with clinical insight, his work has generated foundational resources and opened new avenues for RNA-based precision therapies.

The AACR Award for Outstanding Achievement in Basic Cancer Research was established by the AACR to recognize an early-career investigator for meritorious achievements in basic cancer research. The award is intended to recognize an individual who has not yet reached 46 years of age at the time of their award presentation. To learn more, please visit the press release.
