Special Accommodations for Attendees

The American Association for Cancer Research recognizes the importance of making its educational activities available to all interested participants of the professional medical community. This AACR educational activity is designed to accommodate all attendees and fully complies with the legal requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the rules and regulations thereof. Registrants in need of auxiliary learning aids or special requirements for hotel accommodations, transportation, or other facilities connected with this meeting should indicate requested accommodations on their registration information or contact Grace, Senior Meetings Associate at [email protected].  AACR encourages you to make these requests before attending the meeting, however, should you need special assistance during the meetings, please go to the AACR Meetings office in Room 23 BC in the convention center.

Nursing Mothers Suite

The AACR is providing a Nursing Mothers Suite, with refrigerator located in Room 13, it will be available from April 17th through April 22th.

  • Friday, April 17:              12:00 p.m. -6:30 p.m. 
  • Saturday, April 18:         7:30 a.m. – 6:30 p.m.
  • Sunday, April 19:            6:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
  • Monday, April 20:            6:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
  • Tuesday, April 21:         6:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. 
  • Wednesday, April 22:      6:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.

In addition to the Nursing Mothers Suite, San Diego Convention Center have 3 private nursing pods called Mamava Lactation Suites. These pods are located in the:

  • Lobbies B & H (Ground Level)
  • Lobby 20 (Upper Level)
  • Outside Room 17 (Mezzanine Level)

Additional 2 lounges are located within partitioned areas of the women’s restrooms in Lobbies A and E.

Professional childcare services, administered by KiddieCorp, will be in Room Room 12 of the Convention Center on the following schedule:

  • Friday, April 17:             12:00 p.m. -6:30 p.m. 
  • Saturday, April 18:         7:30 a.m. – 6:30 p.m.
  • Sunday, April 19:           6:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
  • Monday, April 20:           6:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
  • Tuesday, April 21:            6:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. 
  • Wednesday, April 22:      6:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.

As a convenience for registrants, the AACR will cover the cost of this service. Snacks and beverages are included, but meals must be provided by parents/guardians. Medication will NOT be administered by KiddieCorp. To ensure a safe and fun-filled environment, any child who is ill will not be admitted to the children’s program, and the AACR will follow all CDC recommendations for our COVID-19 policies at the AACR Annual Meeting.

The AACR strongly recommends parents/guardians of children enrolled in our professional childcare services take the following precautions:

  • Ensure the child’s COVID-19 vaccinations are up to date.
  • Do not bring the child to the meeting if they have symptoms of a respiratory illness and/or fever.
  • Provide a mask for your child to wear while in professional care. A limited number of masks will be available in the childcare room.

Fellows of the AACR Academy

The AACR Academy was established in 2013 to honor distinguished scientists whose major scientific contributions have propelled significant innovation and progress against cancer. Those elected, known as Fellows of the AACR Academy, constitute a global brain trust of individuals who are instrumental in advancing the mission of the AACR to prevent and cure all cancers through research, education, communication, collaboration, science policy and advocacy, and funding for cancer research. The Fellows of the AACR Academy are currently led by Dr. Elaine V. Fuchs (2025-2027 AACR Academy President) and a Steering Committee of additional Fellows who serve as the collective voice for all Fellows of the AACR Academy, while providing ongoing advice and counsel to the AACR leadership on timely and significant scientific and policy topics as well as other matters of importance to the cancer field. The next elected class of prestigious Fellows of the AACR Academy will be formally recognized during the AACR Annual Meeting 2026 Opening Ceremony, scheduled to take place on Sunday, April 19.

Satellite Educational Symposia

Satellite Educational Symposia will be held in conjunction with the AACR Annual Meeting. These CME-accredited events are supported by parties other than the AACR and are not part of the official program of the AACR Annual Meeting. Presentations included in Satellite Educational Symposia represent the opinions of the presenter and do not represent the position or the opinion of the AACR or its members. Symposia are evaluated by the Satellite Educational Symposia Committee to ensure that the educational content will enhance that provided by the official AACR scientific program.
