AACR on Campus Colombia

AACR on Campus (AACRoC) is a collaborative outreach initiative designed to bring locally relevant insights on cancer research trends and innovations to early-career professionals at academic institutions and cancer centers worldwide. The program also offers targeted skills training in manuscript writing, scientific communication, research integrity, networking and career development.

The American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) is partnering with the Instituto Nacional de Cancerología and Fundación Valle del Lili, with support from AstraZeneca, to host AACR on Campus Colombia in Bogotá and Cali.

Designed specifically for early-career cancer researchers and clinical professionals in Colombia, AACR on Campus offers a dynamic program tailored to support professional growth and scientific exchange.

Tailored specifically for early-career cancer researchers and clinical professionals in Colombia, the week-long program spans 1.5 days in each city and focuses on key themes in Digital Pathology and Implementation Science, with emphasis on Colombia’s unique cancer research landscape, treatment, and care. Core topics include:

  • Basic concepts in digital pathology
  • Research opportunities in digital pathology
  • Introduction to implementation research
  • Implementation research challenges and opportunities

The scientific sessions will be complemented by professional development workshops on scholarly publishing in cancer research, successful grantsmanship and grants administration, and a poster competition. Two Best Poster Prize winners from each location will be awarded USD $2,500 to support attendance at the AACR Annual Meeting 2027.

Through this combination of scientific exchange and professional training, AACR on Campus Colombia will empower the next generation of cancer researchers to advance discoveries and strengthen cancer research capacity across the region.
