Register Today: 2022 San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium, December 6-10

SAN ANTONIO – UT Health San Antonio and the American Association for Cancer Research will host the 2022 San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium (SABCS), December 6-10, 2022, at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center. The symposium will be presented in a hybrid format, allowing participants to attend in person or virtually. Registration for SABCS is complimentary for credentialed news media.

SABCS features the latest research in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of premalignant breast disease and breast cancer, including data from late-breaking clinical trials. Each year, the symposium attracts thousands of basic scientists, physician-scientists, clinical investigators, breast care providers, and advocates from around the world.

Media registration

Members of the media may register to attend in person in San Antonio or virtually. Journalists planning to cover the meeting must register through the SABCS public relations team via the form linked below to receive the embargoed press program and other important communications.

To register as press, journalists must provide:

  • Official press credentials such as a business card, editorial roster or masthead, international press card, or letter of assignment.
  • Bylined coverage from a recent SABCS, or for first-time attendees, two examples of recent bylined health/medical/science coverage.

PRESS OPERATIONS AT 2022 SABCS

Media Badge Pickup at Registration Area in Main Entrance

Registered reporters can pick up badges, programs, and other materials in the registration area at the main entrance of the convention center. Badges can be picked up starting at noon on Monday, December 5.

Press Conferences December 6-8 in Room 217D

Three press conferences will be held in room 217D at the convention center. They will also be live-streamed for virtual participation. Press conferences will be held at the following times:

  • Tuesday, December 6
    12:30 p.m. CT
  • Wednesday, December 7
    7:30 a.m. CT
  • Thursday, December 8
    7:30 am CT

Abstracts included in the 2022 SABCS press program will be announced at a later date. All media registered for the meeting will automatically be registered for the virtual broadcast of the press conferences. The AACR public relations team will follow up with additional information on how to access the briefings virtually.

Press Room December 6-9 in Rooms 217A-C

The press room will be located in rooms 217A-C at the convention center. Hours of operation are as follows:

  • Tuesday, December 6
    8:00 a.m. to 6:15 p.m. CT
  • Wednesday, December 7
    7:00 a.m. to 6:15 p.m. CT
  • Thursday, December 8
    7:00 a.m. to 6:15 p.m. CT
  • Friday, December 9
    7:00 a.m. to 6:15 p.m. CT

Breakfast and lunch will be provided in the press room Tuesday through Friday.

Interview Room Space

EMBARGO POLICY

Individuals registered as press for SABCS agree to abide by all embargoes. With the exception of those selected for the official SABCS press program, abstracts will be posted to the SABCS website November 21, 2022. Embargoes on those abstracts lift as soon as they are available online.

Abstracts selected for the official SABCS press program are embargoed until date and time of presentation, either at an official SABCS press conference or in a scientific session. Press program abstracts will be made publicly available once the embargo lifts.
