What are your long-term career goals?

I plan on applying for a post-baccalaureate or MS position this fall to gain more experience in research and determine where my interests in the field lie. Afterward, I will pursue a PhD in either immunology or molecular biology, followed by a post-doctoral research fellowship, before finding employment as a biomedical researcher. Preferably, I would like to work in a research hospital, where I can work on difficult or unique cases and help others live happier and healthier lives.

Please share information about how the pandemic has impacted your research over the last two years.

The COVID-19 pandemic has made my pursuit of a career in research quite difficult as many positions were made unavailable or limited in scope. Though I have been able to obtain a position as a lab assistant, I have yet been able to pursue my own project due to limitations in the lab. Additionally, the stress and dangers also led to my father retiring this last year, and as the sole wage-earner in the family, this has made my financial status more strained.
