Dr. Tossas’ current research focuses on elucidating the role of the microbiome on HPV-related oncogenesis, and its potential contribution to racial and ethnic disparities. She is more broadly interested in exploring the impact of the community-ome (the interactive elements encompassing our individual and aggregate community experiences) on cancer outcomes for underserved and underrepresented populations. As a racial/ethnic minority faculty, she is committed to developing and supporting the next generation of minority scholars.
