Year In Review | 2025
By the numbers
There have been two additional public data releases, now totaling 18. The latest consortium release contains more than 268,000 samples from nearly 250,000 patients, including more than 38,000 non-small cell lung carcinoma, 23,000 colorectal, and 21,000 breast cancer samples, and 4,000 cfDNA samples. As of December 9, 2025, nearly 1700 papers have cited the data.
AACR Project GENIE 10th Anniversary
This year Project GENIE celebrated a decade of remarkable progress driven by your collaboration, innovation, and commitment to advancing precision oncology. The consortium built one of the world’s largest real-world clinico-genomic data resources, which has become an essential utility for the research community and beyond.
AACR Annual Meeting 2025
It was another productive AACR Annual Meeting for GENIE, as we held our annual methods workshop, an excellent minisymposium, and a poster session from the 27 submitted abstracts. We also celebrated the consortium members and our collaborators at our third consortium reception. See you in San Diego, April 17-22, 2026.
publications
Consortium members continue to publish using various GENIE datasets.
2025 AACR-NCI-EORTC International Conference on Molecular Targets and Cancer Therapeutics
At the Molecular Targets Meeting, a session highlighted the applications of AACR Project GENIE data in drug discovery, including using clinico-genomic data for research (Ken Kehl, DFCI), examining off-label targeted therapy utilization within GENIE BPC datasets (Jeremy Warner, Brown), and identifying novel drug targets through GENIE data analysis (Phillip Beer, Step Pharma).
BioPharma Collaborative (BPC)
Work on BPC Phase 2 is winding down with our final cohort, esophagogastric, in production. The BPC early-onset breast cancer cohort has been released to the public, with additional phase 1 cohorts following in early 2026.
happy holidays
2026 will be another excellent year with new projects, more publications, and more public releases, as well as a productive AACR Annual Meeting 2026. Project GENIE looks forward to continuing its work in the new year. Best wishes for a happy, healthy, and restful holiday season and continued success in the new year.
