AACR to Host Congressional Briefing on Tobacco Prevention and Control

WHAT

Tomorrow, the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR), in partnership with the American Lung Association and the Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids, will host an educational congressional briefing titled “Tobacco Prevention and Control is a Crucial Strategy in Combating Chronic Diseases.”

This congressional briefing will examine the far-reaching impact of nicotine addiction on chronic tobacco-related illnesses. Through expert insights and lived experiences, this session will highlight the critical role of federally funded public health programs in tobacco prevention and cessation, as well as the legislation and policies that could reduce tobacco-related chronic diseases. It will also explore how support for these programs and policies is essential for a healthy America.
