Organizations, Agencies, and Websites

Sources of information and support within the cancer community can sometimes seem hard to find, and at other times the options are overwhelming. We’ve organized more than a hundred resources here to make it easier for you to identify the information, services and assistance you’re trying to find. Search below for information on cancer-related nonprofit organizations, advocacy groups, government agencies, research and professional organizations, and informational websites.

Colorectal Cancer Association of Canada

The Colorectal Cancer Association of Canada (CCAC) provides information about colorectal cancer prevention, screening, and treatment. It also connects survivors to support groups in Canada and online. The association advocates for a national screening program and for better access to colorectal cancer treatment in Canada. An advocacy tool kit is available on the website. The CCAC offers services in English and French.

Colorectal Cancer Awareness

Colorectal Cancer Awareness maintains an Olympus-supported awareness website and provides consumers with the opportunity to learn more about the latest colon cancer research, screening options, patient stories, risk assessments and other medical resources.

Corporate Angel Network

The Corporate Angel Network arranges free travel on corporate jets for cancer patients, bone marrow donors, and bone marrow recipients who are traveling to cancer treatment centers. Its website has information on how patients can make arrangements for their flights. The website also has a short list of resources for cancer patients.

CureSearch for Children’s Cancer

CureSearch’s mission is to cure and prevent childhood and adolescent cancer through scientific discovery and compassionate care. The organization’s website provides information about treatment and care for pediatric cancer patients. It includes special web pages for parents and patients.

Estonian Cancer Society

The Estonian Cancer Society works to spread knowledge and raise public awareness about cancer and cancer prevention, promote the early detection of cancer, and increase cancer survival rates. It also strives to rehabilitate cancer patients, improve patients’ quality of life, and develop home-care support systems. The Estonian Cancer Society also raises awareness of the socioeconomic problems connected to and caused by cancer.

Europa Donna

Europa Donna, the European Breast Cancer Coalition, is an independent, nonprofit organization with membership that includes affiliated groups from 30 countries throughout Europe. The coalition works to raise awareness of breast cancer, and to provide support and education to European women living with breast cancer. Europa Donna advocates for appropriate screening, optimal treatment and care, and increased funding for research. Europa Donna represents the concerns and interests of European women to local and national authorities and governments.

Facing Our Risk of Cancer Empowered

Facing Our Risk of Cancer Empowered (FORCE) provides information for women who have a high risk of developing breast or ovarian cancers. The organization offers information about hereditary cancers, risk management, and the medical and lifestyle options available to high-risk women. FORCE has a toll-free helpline, a message board and a chat room.

Family Caregiver Alliance

The Family Caregiver Alliance (FCA) publishes fact sheets about caregiving issues in English, Spanish, and Chinese. The organization also offers advice about how to handle caregiving responsibilities and the health impacts that stress can have on caregivers, and provides online support groups.

Fight Colorectal Cancer

Fight Colorectal Cancer, formerly C3: Colorectal Cancer Coalition, demands a cure for colon and rectal cancer. It educates and supports patients and caregivers, pushes for changes in policy that will increase and improve research, and empowers survivors to raise their voices against the status quo. Fight Colorectal Cancer offers patients information about prevention, screening, treatment options and clinical trials. The organization advocates to improve cancer research, policy and awareness.

Fighting Chance

Fighting Chance provides services for people living with cancer in Long Island, New York. Among its resources are monthly support group meetings and oncology social workers who are available for individual support and counseling. The organization publishes a resource guide with information about treatment and clinical trials as well as listings for support and transportation services.
