Register and Reserve Housing Now: AACR Annual Meeting 2024  

The last day to make hotel reservations through AACR Housing is February 23

SAN DIEGO – The American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) will host its 115th Annual Meeting from April 5-10, 2024, at the San Diego Convention Center in San Diego, California. Media interested in covering this meeting can register for in-person or virtual attendance.

The AACR Annual Meeting offers scientists, clinicians, survivors, patients, and advocates an outstanding opportunity to share the latest advances in cancer science and medicine. Following this year’s theme, “Inspiring Science • Fueling Progress • Revolutionizing Care,” presentations at the meeting will span the entire field of cancer research, from population science and prevention; to cancer biology, translational, and clinical studies; to survivorship and advocacy.

HOUSING DEADLINE AND MEDIA REGISTRATION

The deadline to request a hotel reservation through AACR Housing is this Friday, February 23. Hotel information can be found in the Accommodations and Travel section on the AACR website. Even if reservations are not immediately available for your selected dates, we strongly recommend adding your name to the waitlist as rooms are likely to become available in the coming weeks. You may reserve a hotel room before registering for the meeting.

Journalists may register to attend the meeting in person in San Diego or virtually. Both in-person and virtual registrants will have access to live-streamed and on-demand sessions through the virtual meeting platform. PRESS OPERATIONS AT AACR ANNUAL MEETING 2024

Press Conferences from April 7-9 in Room 26

Press conferences featuring noteworthy research from the AACR Annual Meeting are scheduled for the following times:

  • Sunday, April 7, 11 a.m. PT
  • Monday, April 8, 8:30 a.m. PT
  • Tuesday, April 9, 8:30 a.m. PT

Press conferences will be held in person and simultaneously broadcast through Zoom webinar for virtual attendees. Abstracts included in this year’s press program and additional details will be announced at a later date.

The press room hours of operation are as follows:

  • Friday, April 5: 12-6 p.m. PT
  • Saturday, April 6-Tuesday, April 9: 7:30 a.m.-6 p.m. PT
  • Wednesday, April 10: 7:30 a.m.-12 p.m. PT

EMBARGO POLICY

Individuals registered as press for the AACR Annual Meeting agree to abide by all embargoes. Please review the AACR’s embargo policy.

Abstracts will be posted to the online itinerary planner at the time embargoes lift. Below are the dates and times when embargoes lift:

  • Regular abstracts (titles and texts) release on March 5, 2024 at 4:30 p.m. ET
  • Late-breaking and clinical trials abstract titles ONLY (no texts) release on March 5, 2024 at 4:30 p.m. ET
  • Late-breaking and clinical trials abstract texts release on April 5, 2024 at 12 p.m. PT/3 p.m. ET

Abstracts selected for the official AACR Annual Meeting press program are embargoed until date and time of presentation during the Annual Meeting, either at an official AACR press conference or in a scientific session. Press program abstracts and press releases will be shared with registered reporters about a week in advance of the meeting and made publicly available once the embargoes lift.
