Accommodations and Travel

The AACR has recently been notified that some conference registrants are being solicited by an unauthorized company trying to obtain credit card information by phone and email to secure housing accommodations at this conference.  All information regarding travel and housing accommodations is available on this webpage.  The AACR and JCA will not contact you by phone or email requesting credit card information. Accommodations

Please Note: Due to the hotel being oversold specifically for the night of February 1, 2025, the AACR has secured rooms at the Westin Maui Resort & Spa. A reduced conference rate of $389 per night is available to conference attendees until Friday, January 3, 2025. Reservations may be made online or by calling the Honolulu Reservations office at 808-921-4645 or 1-800-782-9488; when calling, please specify the property, The Westin Maui Resort & Spa, and the group: AACR Room Block 2025. The hours of operation for this office are Monday thru Friday, 8 am to 4 pm Hawaii Standard Time.
Group Stay Dates – Check-In: January 31, 2025 and Check-Out: February 2, 2025.

However, there are rooms remaining for booking at the Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa over February 2 – 5, 2025. You should secure your reservation from February 2- 6 at the Hyatt.  To accommodate guests’ transfer from the Westin, the AACR will provide shuttle service from the Westin to the Hyatt on February 1st for the Opening Session and reception and again on the morning of February 2nd for the morning sessions and check in at the Hyatt. 

 The conference will be held at the Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa in Maui, HI. The Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa is located approximately 29 miles away from Kahului Airport (OGG). A reduced conference rate of $326 for resort view rooms and $370 for partial ocean view rooms per night is available to conference attendees until Wednesday, January 1, 2025. Reservations may be made online or by calling 1-808-661-1234 or 877-803-7534 and requesting the AACR-JCA Joint Conference rate or the “G-AAC5” group code. The hotel will accept reservations at the reduced conference rate on a space-available basis until the cut-off date. Reservations made after this date will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis at the nearest available rate. Applied to the room charge will be state and local taxes, currently 17.96%. Reservations must be guaranteed with a major credit card at the time of reservation. A deposit equal to two (2) nights is required to hold each guest’s reservation. Such deposit shall serve to confirm the reservation. Upon check–in, the deposit shall be applied to the guest folio. Cancellations will be accepted at no charge 72 hours in advance of arrival. Travel to Maui

The closest major airport to the conference site is the Kahului Airport (OGG), located approximately 40 minutes from the hotel.   • Include your: Name (per your travel ID), Date of Birth, Preferred Departure/Arrival Airport, name of the AACR meeting you are booking travel for, Travel Dates, and any Additional Preferences (such as seating, timing, etc.)
  • Samantha will research the best flight options and provide several choices that fit your needs and inquire about earning mileage credit for frequent flyer programs as many are accepted.
  • A one-time minimal transaction fee of $35 will be clearly listed along with flight pricing 

AACR’s Corporate Traveler office is open: Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. EST.

Ground Transportation

A variety of ground transportation options are available upon arrival, including taxi service, private car service, Uber, car rentals, and shared shuttles. Taxi service between the Kahului Airport (OGG) and The Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa is approximately $88 one way, plus gratuity. SpeediShuttle provides shared ride airport transportation in Mercedes shuttles at a per person rate between the Kahului Airport (OGG) and the Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa. Guests with prearranged arrival reservations are met in the baggage claim area, then directed to their waiting shuttle. Vehicle amenities include complimentary 6” headroom, three-point seat restraints, adjustable headrests and roomy comfortable seats. You may book your reservation online here.

International Travel

Researchers from more than 50 different countries around the world regularly participate in AACR and JCA meetings and conferences. The Associations encourage and appreciate the contributions of international researchers at our programs. If you plan to attend this AACR-JCA conference, please contact the American Consulate in your country to review the current regulations for travel to the United States. Obtaining the proper documentation may take several weeks or months, depending on your location, so we encourage you to contact the consulate as soon as possible if you are considering attending this conference.
