Patient advocates may submit work to this category, or any other category, and simply select “Advocacy” as one of the keywords to be considered for a session featuring patient advocates as presenting authors.

Complete instructions on the use of the AACR Abstract Submission System is provided on the website. Authors must use their myAACR login to access the submission system; authors who do not have a myAACR account will have the opportunity to create one during submission.

The combined length of the abstract body, title, and tables may not exceed 2,600 characters, not including spaces and the author string. Tables count for 800 characters against the limit. Submission cannot be completed for abstracts that exceed this limit.

Each abstract submitted must be accompanied by a $75 abstract submission fee. The submission fee can be paid by credit card or check. The fee is nonrefundable regardless of the final disposition of the abstract.

If accepted, advocate presenters can apply for a Patient Advocate in Cancer Research Award to offset registration, housing, and/or travel costs incurred by attending the conference.

Patient advocate abstracts will be reviewed and selected by members of the SPGA Committee on the basis of the following criteria: novelty of the program, significance of the information, and clarity.

All individuals listed as abstract presenters will be notified of acceptance or rejection by email. Notices and instructions will be sent to the email address provided at the time of abstract submission. If an abstract is not selected for presentation, the presenter may request a full refund of the registration fee by contacting the AACR Meetings Department at [email protected].
