Emeritus Membership

The association provides Emeritus status privileges to those members who have reached 70 years of age. To offset the increased expenses for membership services and mailings, the board of directors asks that Emeritus members pay a voluntary assessment each year. These funds will allow us to continue to send Emeritus members announcements of special conferences, annual meeting program updates, and newsletters. If you are unable to pay this assessment, you will not receive regular communications from our office; however, you would still be maintained on the membership rolls as an Emeritus member in good standing and, as such, would have the following privileges of membership:

  • the privilege of sponsoring a proffered paper (abstract) for consideration for presentation at the AACR annual meeting;
  • the right to vote in elections;
  • the privilege of sponsoring candidates for Active, Associate, Affiliate, and Student membership in the association;
  • substantially reduced registration rates for AACR annual meetings and special conferences; and
  • the opportunity to subscribe to any of the nine association journals i.e., Blood Cancer Discovery, Cancer Discovery; Cancer Epidemiology, Biomarkers & Prevention; Cancer Prevention Research; Cancer Research; Clinical Cancer Research; Molecular Cancer Research; and Molecular Cancer Therapeutics at reduced member rates. Free access to the online version of AACR’s newest journal, Cancer Immunology Research.
  • free online access to the digital edition of the magazine, Cancer Today; and
  • many more ongoing benefits.

Responsibilities of Membership

AACR Emeritus members are not required to pay annual dues; however, the board of directors asks that Emeritus members pay a voluntary assessment each year to offset the increased expenses for membership services and mailings. These funds will allow us to continue to send Emeritus members announcements of special conferences, annual meeting program updates, and newsletters. If you are unable to pay this assessment, you will not receive regular communications from our office; however, you would still be maintained on the membership rolls as an Emeritus member in good standing.
